Adrian, Lorraine Helen Radtke, 93 years, 9 months, 10 days, of Mountain Lake, Cottonwood Co., MN, died February 13, 2016 at Windom, Cottonwood Co., MN. She was born May 3, 1922 at Mountain Lake to Carl W. R. and Kathryn (Penner) Radtke. On April 4, 1945 at Mountain Lake, MN she was married to Abraham "Abe" John Adrian, who was born July 25, 1920 and died September 30, 2012.

Surviving are children, Richard Adrian, Verlo (Andrea) Adrian; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a brother-in-law, Joe Adrian; and sisters-in-law, Ione Radtke, and Twyla Radtke.

A sister, Esther Redekop; brothers, Ed Radtke, Robert Radtke, and Gary Radtke preceded her in death.

Lorraine Helen (Radtke) Adrian was born on May 3, 1922 to Carl W.R. and Kathryn (Penner) Radtke in Cottonwood County near Mountain Lake. She grew up in the Butterfield, Minnesota, area and attended country school.
Baptized as an infant in the Lutheran church, Lorraine was re-baptized upon her confession of faith as a young adult at First Mennonite Church of Butterfield on May 31, 1936.
Lorraine married Abraham "Abe" Adrian on April 4, 1945 at First Mennonite Church of Mountain Lake.
During her life, Lorraine worked at the produce plant in Butterfield, Toro in Windom and as a janitor at her church for many years. She was a homemaker who was well known for her baking, especially her peppernuts, zwieback and preske. She also enjoyed patching and spending time with her family.

Memorial services were held February 16, 2016 at Sturm Funeral Home, Mountain Lake, MN with burial in Mountain Lake City Cemetery, Mountain Lake, MN.

Alderfer, Frances Keller, 93, of Hatfield, Montgomery Co., PA died July 13, 2016 at the same place. She was born September 5, 1922 at Harleysville, Montgomery Co., PA to Horace A. and Bertha (Keller) Alderfer.

Memorial services were held July 16, 2016 at Salford Mennonite Church, Harleysville, PA with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Alderfer, Warren Hendricks, 97, of Lansdale, PA died January 27, 2016 at Souderton, Montgomery Co., PA. He was born December 7, 1918 at Mainland, Montgomery Co., PA to Warren K. and Martha B. (Hendricks) Alderfer. On May 18, 1940 he was married to Naomi Freed Derstine, who was born February 26, 1921 and died September 25, 2007.

Surviving are children, Rachel (and John) Hinz; Rhoda (and Lyle) Kauffman; Glenda (and Abram) Moyer; and David (and Cheryl) Alderfer; eleven grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Martha Alderfer.

An infant son, an infant grandson, and four sisters, Mary Alderfer; infant, Miriam Alderfer; Erma Rittenhouse; and Edith Clemmer preceded him in death.

Memorial services were held February 1, 2016 at Souderton Mennonite Homes, Souderton, PA with burial in Plains Mennonite Church Cemetery, Hatfield, Montgomery Co.,PA.

Anders, Donald N., 79, of Telford, PA died January 11, 2016 at Quakertown, Bucks Co., PA from head and neck trauma as a result of a vehicle accident.

He was born May 2, 1936 at Elroy, Montgomery Co., PA to Earl M. and Mary B. (Nyce) Anders. Earl was born May 18, 1912 and died November 6, 2011. Mary was born June 30, 1914 and died August 15, 2002.

On September 28, 1957 he was married to Catherine L. Derstine, who was born June 3, 1939 and survives.

Surviving are children, D. Philip Anders and wife Beverly; David Anders and wife Elizabeth; Cathy Weaver and husband John; and Connie Hunsberger and husband Galen; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Kratz and husband Robert; brother, Earl Anders and wife Elaine; sister, Deanie Frankenfield and husband Dale and sister, Rebecca Derstine and husband G. Dale.

Memorial services were held January 17 2016 at Franconia Mennonite Church, Telford,, Montgomery Co., PA with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Arnold, Janice Eileen Buller, 71, of Hesston Harvey Co., KS died February 9, 2016 at the same place. She was born October 28, 1944 at Newton, Harvey Co., KS to Marvin and Mryle (Goossen) Buller. On August 13, 1966 at Newton, KS she was married to George Dean Arnold, who survives.

Surviving are two sons, Scott (Natasha) Arnold, and Derek (Melody) Arnold; seven grandchildren, and two brothers, Marvin Lawrence Buller, and Leroy Glenn Buller.

Memorial services were held February 15, 2016 at Hesston Mennonite Church, Hesston, KS with burial in Eastlawn Cemetery, Hessston.

Augsburger, Martha Louise Kling, 89, of Harrisonburg, VA died February 18, 2016 at the same place. She was born May 12, 1926 at Talmage, PA to Willis and Barbara (Stauffer) Kling. She was married to A. Don Augsburger, who survives.

Surviving are children, Phyllis Anne Ressler (Everett Ressler); Patricia Louise Augsburger (Wilbur Ressler); and Don Richard Augsburger (Jane Rutt); five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Alger and Beth Leaman.

Two brothers, Richard Kling, and John Kling, a sister, Helen Buckwalter and his step-mother, Anna Mellinger Kling preceded her in death.

She was an elementary teacher for 30 years, influencing the lives of hundreds of children. She had a keen eye for color, design and architecture, and innate interest and gift for music and fine arts, and diverse culinary skills.

Memorial services were held February 28, 2016 at Park View Mennonite Church, Harrisonburg, VA with burial in Bahia Vista Mennonite Cemetery, Sarasota, FL.

Auker, Edwin S., 82, of 312 E. Mohler Church Rd., Ephrata, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Hahnstown to the late Ammon B. and Mary (Shaub) Auker and was the husband of Mary (Zimmerman) Auker.

Edwin was a member of the Denver Mennonite Church. He retired in 2010 from Stoltzfus Cabinet Shop in Talmage as a cabinet installer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Donald Ray Auker of Lebanon; 2 daughters, JoAnne Z., wife of Merlin Boll of Ephrata, Lois Dawn, wife of Mark Myer of Leetonia, OH; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Ivan, husband of Minnie (Stauffer) Auker of Ephrata, Thomas Auker of Ephrata, John, husband of Naomi (Martin) Auker of Mt. Pleasant Mills; 8 sisters, Lizzie Mae, wife of the late David M. Weaver of Liverpool, Grace, wife of Daniel M. Stauffer of Leonard, MN, Sara, wife of the late Luke S. Zimmerman of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Ruth Auker of Port Trevorton, Edna Auker of Port Trevorton, Miriam Auker of Ephrata, Ellen, wife of Alvin S. Zimmerman of Lydonville, NY, Nancy, wife of Wayne B. Stauffer of Port Trevorton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Boll.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 10, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Denver Mennonite Church, 95 Monroe Street, Denver. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 11, at 10 a.m., at the church. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.

Auker, Ruth Stauffer, 81, of Ephrata, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016. She was the wife of James S. Auker, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Born in Selinsgrove, PA, she was the daughter of the late William B. and the late Lydia B. Stauffer. She was a member of the Denver Mennonite Church.

In addition to her husband, she has six surviving children, Connie, wife of Kenneth Gehman, Denver; Glenn, husband of Erla (Zimmerman), Mendon, MA; Ray, husband of Faye (Hostetter); Jay, husband of Carol (Witmer), both of Denver, PA; Timothy, husband of Martha (Ehst), Scipio Center, NY; Michael, husband of Ronda (Horst), Gettysburg, PA; 41 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy, wife of Lester Martin, Denver and Anna Stauffer, East Earl.

The funeral will be held on Monday, February 8, at 10:00 AM, at the Denver Mennonite Church, 95 Monroe Street, Denver, with Harold Good, Wilmer Weaver, Luke Sensenig, Mark Sensenig and Philip Sensenig officiating. Viewings will be held on Sunday, 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM at the church. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Sharon Kay Babin, 68, of LaGrange, formerly of Goshen, died Saturday morning, March 19, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 25, 1947 in Goshen to Willard and Dorothy (Sumpter) Schmucker.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Nancy) Babin of New Paris and Marc Babin of Sarasota, Florida; six grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Schrock and a brother, Kenneth Schmucker both of Shipshewana.

Sharon was a member of Hively Avenue Mennonite Church and worked as an LPN for IU Health Goshen Hospital and private home care.

Friends may call Friday, March 25, 2016, from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service at Hively Avenue Mennonite Church, 800 E Hively Avenue, Elkhart. Chaplain Margaret Sawatsky will officiate.

Bacher, Martha Irene Witmer
Sept. 18, 1928 - Sept. 18, 2016

Westminster-Martha Irene (Witmer) Bacher entered this life on September 18, 1928 and her eternal rest on September 18, 2016. She was born to Isaiah and Lulu (Shuam) Witmer amd lived her childhood with her parents and 6 siblings near Columbiana, OH. Martha married John Bacher of Wolford, ND on November 26, 1953. They were married for over 62 years and raised their family of 8 children on their Wolford farm. For many years, they would winter in Westminster, SC, where she was residing at the time of her passing on her 88th birthday.

Surviving are her husband John and their 8 children, 32 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Her children include Loyal (Edith) of Westminster, SC; Sharon (Jon) Miller of Penrose, CO; Ruth (John) Mast of Mountain View , AR; Vernon (Maria) of Westminster, SC; Darrell (Julie) of Columbus, NC; Joe (Cathy) of Gainesville, VA; Gary (Rita) of Wolford, ND; and Arlene (Rick) Skinner of Bloomfield, IN.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Vernon and John, and 2 sisters, Anna Mary and Arlene. She is survived by 2 brothers, Warren and David, both of OH.

As a wife and homemaker, Martha lived a full life of selflessly serving her family and many others with her generosity and hospitality. She lived a life that reflected her deep relationship with her Savior, Jesus, and was looking forward to the moment of seeing Him face to face.

A memorial service will be held at the Foothills Fellowship Church at 5:30 PM on Tuesday September 20, 2016 in Westminster, SC. The funeral will be held at 2:30 PM at the Lakeview Mennonite Church in Wolford, ND, with the burial following near Mylo, ND. Baughman, James Meredith, 85, of Pulaski, Davis Co., IA died December 3, 2016 at Des Moines, IA. He was born April 8, 1931 at Pulaski, IA to Harold Christian and Gladys Mae (Meredith) Baughman. On April 19, 1952 at Wayland, IA he was married to Carol Graber, who survives.

Surviving are daughter, Debra (Rick) Forbes of Mt. Vernon, Iowa and son, Jeff Baughman of Lacey, Washington; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and sister, Mary Ann Fisher; sister, Joy (Steve) both of Bloomfield, IA; brother, William (Barbara) Baughman of Pulaski, IA; and brother, Glenn (Ann Marie) Baughman of Des Moines, IA.

Bauman, Harold E.
May 16, 1922 - March 28, 2016

GOSHEN - Harold E. Bauman, 93, passed away Monday, March 28, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.

He was born May 16, 1922, in Iron Springs, Pa., to Norman and Ella (Shoup) Bauman.

Harold was a student of the Bible, pastor, counselor, workshop leader and conference speaker. Reared in Columbiana County, Ohio, he attended Goshen College (1946) and Goshen Biblical Seminary in Indiana. He did graduate work at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky., (Th.M., 1962), Union Theological Seminary and Teachers College, Columbia University, New York (Ed.D., 1972).

After 11 years in the pastoral ministry in the Orrville (Ohio) Mennonite Church, Harold served as campus pastor at Goshen College for 16 years. As a staff member of the Mennonite Board of Congregational Ministries, he served as a teacher and consultant in the areas of leadership and worship for nearly 14 years, working with congregational leaders across North America.

Involved in the Holy Spirit renewal movement since the early '70s, Harold had spoken in conferences and led workshops for pastors and elders. He served for more than a dozen years as the liaison between Mennonite Renewal Services and the official bodies of the Mennonite Church. Harold also served as overseer for a number of churches.

An emerging congregation in Dublin, Ireland, called Harold and his wife, Elizabeth (Hershberger), to help in leadership training beginning in July 1988 for two years.

Harold is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hertzler and his children, Philip (Connie Leinbach), of Goshen, John (Susan Ebersole), of Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y., David, of Lancaster, Pa., and Rebecca (Jeanne Keenan), of South Pasadena, Calif. He was very proud of his grandchildren, Jeffery (deceased), Mark (Margaret Knutsen), of Findlay, Ohio, Clara, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Anna, of Oberlin, Ohio, Matthew (Charity Grimes) of Pittsburgh, Pa., Benjamin of Goshen and Corey and Emmy of South Pasadena.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Hershberger Bauman, on Feb. 9, 1995, and his brother, Norman, and sister, Ruth.

Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at College Mennonite Church, Goshen, with a memorial service starting at 5 p.m. A private graveside service will take place at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.

Beachy, Harvey D.

GOSHEN - Harvey D. Beachy, 88, of Goshen, died Thursday, Jan. 14.

He was born March 2, 1927, to Daniel C. and Susan (Miller) Beachy.

On April 10, 1947, he married Marie Miller. She survives.

Survivors in addition to his wife are four sons, Vernon (Ada) Beachy, Richard (Deborah) Beachy, Eugene Beachy and Doyle (Terry) Beachy; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sarah (Jake) Stoltzfus, Esther (Arthur) Martin and Barbara Bender; and brother David (Mary Ellen) Beachy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Sara Myers; four sisters, Katie Jones, Ida Yoder, Anna Gingerich and Susan Miller; four brothers, Alvin Beachy, Eli Beachy, Neal Beachy and Dan Beachy; and one great-grandson.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, and for one hour prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service Monday, Jan. 18, all at Mount Joy Mennonite Church, Goshen. Services will be conducted by Pastors Nelson Yoder and his nephew, Homer Yoder. Burial will be in Thomas Cemetery, Goshen.

GOSHEN — Perry “Pete” M. Beachy, 83, of Goshen, died at 7:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing, Goshen.

He was born Jan. 2, 1933, in Millersburg, to Menno and Elizabeth (Yoder) Beachy Sr.

He married Ruby (Troyer) Beachy on Aug. 1, 1959, at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby of Goshen; daughter Rhonda (Jim) Gibson of New Paris; son Jeffrey (Cathleen) Beachy of Bristol; grandchildren Benjamin (Kellianne) Keim of Fort Wayne, Kate Keim of Mishawaka, Joey Gibson and Da Kai Gibson of New Paris; great-granddaughter Delilah Keim of Fort Wayne; and brother Mahlon (Clara) Beachy of Millersburg.

Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers, Melvin, Elmer, Daniel and Menno Beachy Jr. and sisters, Sadie Mast, Susie Graber and Amanda Petersheim.

Perry delivered milk for Burger Dairy for 25 years, delivered travel trailers and worked as seafood manager at Wal-mart for 14 years. He was a member of the First Brethren Church, New Paris and was a former member of the Lion’s Club, New Paris. His interests included hunting, he was an avid bass fisherman, bowling, horses and harness horse racing.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen and one hour prior to the 10:30 a.m. service Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the First Brethren Church, New Paris. Pastor Jeff Estep will officiate and burial will be in New Paris Cemetery.

ELKHART - Edward L. Bechtel, 69, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 27, at his home after a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 1, 1946, in Goshen, to Lowell Ray and Sarah Elizabeth (Whirledge) Bechtel.

On Jan. 15, 1965, he married Linda L. Grimm.

She survives along with two children, Wendy Bechtel-Swann of Elkhart and Bob (Julie) Bechtel of Kalamazoo, Mich.; five grandchildren, Katlynn, Elizabeth and Steve Swann and Kevin and Ross Bechtel; two great-grandchildren, Ashlynn and Max Swann; and two siblings, Jane (David) Troup and Tom (Jeannette) Bechtel, both of Goshen.

A sales manager for Nobi Corp., Mr. Bechtel volunteered as a Boy Scout leader for 40 years in Martinsville and Elkhart.

Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan.30, funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Brenda Sawatzky Paetkau of 8th Street Mennonite Church will officiate.

Beckler, Delmar, 83, of the Noble community, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at his home.

A visitation A funeral service was at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, May 6th, at the Bethel Mennonite Church with Pastor Curt Kuhns officiating. Interment in Bethel Cemetery.

Born May 25, 1932 in Fagler, CO, Delmar Floyd was the son of Ira and Marian (Boshart) Beckler. The family moved to Lebanon, OR when Delmar was 5 years old. He attended Berlin Country School near Lebanon, OR. On September 21, 1952 he married Mildred Unternahrer at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church. From 1953-1954, he fulfilled a 1W Service with the Mt. Pleasant Mental Health Institute.

At the age of 16, Delmar began driving a truck. He was co-owner with his father of a sale barn in Lebanon, OR where he was a cattle buyer and auctioneer. He later was a saw mill foreman and log truck driver in Sweet Home, OR. In 1967, the family moved to Wayland, IA where he was a feed salesman for English River Pellets in Kalona, IA. He later was a foreman at Perfex Modine in Washington, IA. He retired as an independent over the road truck driver in 2007. After retiring, he assisted with transportation for the Amish community.

Delmar and Mildred loved to travel and spend time with their family. He enjoyed collecting Oliver Tractors. He was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred of Mt. Pleasant; 4 children, Ardith (Tom) Frees of Riverside, IA, Sharon (Steve) Blakley of Wayland, IA, Beverly Elmore of Albia, IA, and Dean (Crystal) Beckler of Crawfordsville, IA; a special son of the heart, Mark McKinney of Los Angeles, CA; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a sister, Naomi Roth of Albany, OR.

Born December 26, 1962 in Lebanon, OR, Duane Merrell was the son of Delmar Floyd and Mildred (Unternahrer) Beckler. He graduated from Hope Haven School in Burlington, IA. He worked as a "supervisor" at the Washington County Developmental Center.

Duane loved to bowl and play golf. He listened to country western music, enjoyed horses, and loved to go to Midwest Old Threshers each year. An avid NASCAR fan, his favorite driver was Jeff Gordo n. A special uncle to his many nieces and nephews, Duane enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his parents, Delmar and Mildred Beckler of Mt. Pleasant, IA; four siblings, and 20 special nieces and nephews.

Born February 20, 1932, in rural Wayland, Mildred was the daughter of Jacob “Jake” and Mayme Leichty Unternahrer. She was a 1950 graduate of Wayland High School. On September 21, 1952, Mildred married Delmar F. Beckler at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2016.

Family was Mildred’s highest priority as she doted on her grandchildren. She cleaned homes and apartments in Mt. Pleasant and worked at Metromail. For 20 plus years she worked at Crane Manufacturing in Washington, IA, before retiring in the late 1980’s. Mildred was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cross stitching, singing, and doing word find puzzles.

Mildred is survived by four children, Ardith (Tom) Frees of Riverside, IA, Dean (Crystal) Beckler of Crawfordsville, IA, Sharon (Steve) Blakley of Wayland, IA, and Beverly Elmore of Albia, IA; a special son of the heart, Mark McKinney of Los Angeles, CA; and six siblings, Daniel (Annabelle) Unternahrer of Shipshewana, IN, Harold Unternahrer of Wayland, IA, John (Phianna) Unternahrer of Wayland, IA, Clarence (Linda) Unternahrer of Ainsworth, IA, Edna Beckler of Kalispell, MT, and Ruth Kaufman of Lebanon, OR. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Martha Unternahrer Marsh of Wayland, IA and Naomi Roth of Albany, OR; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, Mildred was preceded in death by a son, Duane Beckler; two brothers, Ralph Unternahrer and Edward Unternahrer, who died in infancy; and a son-in-law, Daniel Elmore.

MILLERSBURG - Beulah Mae Beechy, 91, of Millersburg, died on Thursday, March 31, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.

She was born on Dec. 9, 1924, in Nappanee, to Uriah and Elizabeth (Slabaugh) Mast.

On March 9, 1944, she married Elva Beechy; he survives.

Survivors also include their seven children, Robert LaVern Beechy, Esther Yoder, Freida (Mike) Katsaros, Harley (Jennifer) Beechy, Bill (Kim) Beechy, Edwin (Carolyn) Beechy and Floyd (Michelle) Beechy; many great-grandchildren; brothers Otis, Elmer, Robert, Wilbur and Uriah Mast, Jr.; and sisters Nancy Chupp and Elizabeth (Marvin) Miller.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter; Carol Ann (Eldon) Miller; and six brothers, Omar, Joe, Glenn, William, Samuel and Roman.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at Fairhaven Mennonite Church, 13513 S.R. 4, Goshen. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 4, also at the church. Beery, Emory Charles, 89, of Dayton, passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at his residence. Mr. Beery was born May 10, 1927, in Dayton and was a son of the late Ward Edward and Mary Amelia (Showalter) Beery.

He was a farmer and a member of the Riverdale Old Order Mennonite Church.

On June 29, 1960, he married the former Mary E. Knicely, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Beery is survived by his children, Dale F. Beery and wife, Melva, of Dayton, Sheldon E. Beery and wife, Doris, of Harrisonburg, E. David Beery and wife, Brenda, of Dayton, Kathleen D. Beery of Dayton, Nolan J. Beery and wife, Donna, of Dayton, and Linden S. Beery of Dayton; siblings, Joseph Beery of Dayton, Wilda Beery of Harrisonburg, Ada Rodes and husband, Noah, of Port Republic, Anna Rohrer of Dayton, Mary Beery of Harrisonburg and Ward Beery and wife, Sadie, of Dayton; brother-in-law, Frank Rohrer; 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Emory was preceded in death by his siblings, Ruth Shirk and husband, Christian, David Beery, Mabel Knicely and husband, David, Daniel Beery and wife, Priscilla, and Hettie Rohrer; sister-in-law, Wilda Beery; brother-in-law, Fred Rohrer; and four infant grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite Church with the ministers of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Beery, Eunice Irene Burkholder, 67, of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at her residence following a long illness due to liver disease.

Mrs. Beery was born on Oct. 15, 1948, in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late John Samuel and Vernie Magdalene (Knicely) Burkholder. She was a homemaker. Eunice was a member of the Riverdale Old Order Mennonite Church.

On Oct. 2, 1969, she married Allen Rhodes Beery, who survives.

In addition to her husband, Eunice is survived by her children, Sidney Beery and wife, Amy, Aaron Beery and wife, Lera, Arlen Beery and wife, Evelyn, Kenneth Beery and wife, Amy Sue, and Katie Knicely and husband, Wayne, all of Dayton; siblings, Wilda Rhodes of Dayton, Norma Koogler of Harrisonburg, Anna Burkholder of Dayton, Mildred Knicely and husband, Lowell, of Dayton, and Mark Burkholder and wife, Virginia, of Dayton; 38 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Sadie Rhodes, Beulah Koogler, Earl Burkholder and Vernon Burkholder; and brothers-in-law, Joe Rhodes and Ervin Koogler.

The funeral service will be held on Monday Aug. 1, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Riverdale Old Order Mennonite Church, with the ministers of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home on Saturday and Sunday until 8 p.m.

ELKHART ,- Beloved child of Jesus, Jean Emily Bender of Elkhart, in her 87th year, passed peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of Wednesday, May 18.

Jean was predeceased by her parents, Veronica and Allan Bender, and her brother, Vernon, of Wellesley, Ontario, as well as her brother-in-law, Alvin Roth.

She is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Madeline Roth, Delmar and Mary Bender and Grace and Oliver Brunk.

She is also dearly missed by her nieces and nephews, Barry and Denise, Barbara, Jim and Kim, Bob, Darlene, Paul and Carolyn, Gloria and David, Keith and Micheline, Brian and Heather, Joyce and John; and her 13 grandnieces and nephews; and her five great-grandnieces and nephews.

She will also be missed by many dear friends, especially Max and Sharon Eby, Billy Jo Pawlak and Carla Riley.

Jean was born at home July 3, 1928, in Wellesley, Ontario. She grew up on a farm just west of Kingwood, Ontario, where her love of animals began. She attended elementary school in Wellesley and Kingwood. She did not attend secondary school so that she could work at home on the farm. At age 17, Jean had a kidney removed and while in hospital was introduced to the world of healthcare. She worked as an aid at KW Hospital from age 18 to 20. As a mature student she attended Goshen College in Indiana where she earned her BS in nursing. After a year of nursing at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, she continued her education at Indiana University and earned her master's of health education.

Jean then began her 30-year career of school nursing with the Elkhart and Mishawaka school systems where she greatly enjoyed caring for and interacting with the students. Over the years, she continued to enjoy the many relationships she had built with students and faculty during that time.

While working as a school nurse she also worked at Elkhart General in all areas of the hospital but especially in the emergency room. Her career there spanned 44 years. She thoroughly enjoyed the hard work but also the fun and camaraderie with her colleagues. Jean had a deep and unfaltering faith in her Savior Jesus Christ. She was an active member of Prairie Street Mennonite Church where she enjoyed Christian guidance, Bible study, music and fellowship.

Jean was an exceptionally generous and loving person. She enjoyed travel and gardening but most of all, Jean loved to be with people.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 28, at Prairie Street Mennonite Church, 1316 Prairie St., Elkhart, with the Rev. Nelson Kraybill officiating. Burial will take place in Canada.

GOSHEN - Martha M. Bender, 85, of Goshen, passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, at Goshen Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born June 24, 1931, in Goshen, to Noah and Laura (Miller) Kaufman.

On March 18, 1951, she married Edward L. Bender at Pleasant Grove Church, Goshen. He died Feb. 19, 2016.

Survivors include five children, Joyce E. Burkhead of Goshen, Lamar (Karen) Bender of Hesston, Kan., Darrell (Sarah) Bender of New Paris, Randy (Debbie) Bender of Granger and Ronald (Paula) Bender of Lynchburg, Va.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Wilma (Fred) Springer of Long Beach, Calif., Mary Ellen (Marvin) Miller of Sarasota, Fla., Pauline Borntrager of Goshen and Verna Kaufman of Elkhart; and three brothers, Wilbur (Martha) Kaufman and Calvin (Loretta) Kaufman, both of Goshen and David (Mickie) Kaufman of Winona Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two grandsons, Noah Bender and Derek Burkhead; and a brother, Leon Kaufman.

A member of Grace United Methodist Church, Mrs. Bender enjoyed quilting, flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was well known for her dinner rolls.

She worked at Goshen Rubber for 20 years, retiring in 1986.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m. Tuesday, funeral service will be conducted.

Benner, Mary E. Hershey, age 89, of Gap, PA, passed away at at her home on Monday, July 18, 2016. She was the wife of the late Roy D. Benner, w ho passed away on November 1, 2008. She was born in York, PA, daughter of the late John & Anna Burkhart Hershey and stepmother, Martha Hershey.

She was a member of the Old Road Mennonite Church, Gap, PA, where in the past she was a member of the sewing circle. She ran the Ben-Mar Farm Bed & Breakfast for 20 years. She loved quilting, gardening, bird watching and was known for her pie baking.

Surviving are 6 children: Calvin R., husband of Sharon Haftle Benner of Elizabethtown, Annetta J. Moyer of Narvon, Robert H., husband of Betsy Wilde Benner of Gap, Herbert H., husband of Melanie Hoover Benner of Gap, Dale H. Benner at home, 24 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 4 siblings: Ada Rohrer of Lancaster, Eva Hertzler of Mechanicsburg, PA, Grace, wife of Samuel Gish of Elizabethtown, Aaron, husband of Mary Myers Hershey of York. She was born June 22, 1958, in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, to Royal J. “R.J.” and Florence (Goodman) Hower.

She married Francisco Berdejo.

Surviving are her husband, Francisco; children Carla (Kohl) Salinas and Emma Kohl; grandchildren Luis, Jovani, Andrea, Jorge, Jonathan, Fernanda, Elena and Frances; brother Samuel (Cheri) Hower; and her mother, Florence Hower.

Her father, R.J. Hower, preceded her in death.

Bergey, who was born February 24, 1917 and died September 24, 1987.

Berryman, Donnel, 86, of Pulaski, Davis Co., IA died February 19, 2016 at Ottumwa, Wapello Co., Iowa. He was born June 22, 1929 at Birmingham, Iowa to Steve and Alvina (Peplow) Berryman. On June 25, 1950 at Pulaski, IA he was married to Virginia Augspurger, who was born July 18, 1929 and survives.

Birky, Nona Ruth Miller, 98, of Hopedale, IL died September 15, 2016 at Norman, IL. She was born September 23, 1917 to Eli and Amanda (Hochstettler)Miller. On December 25, 1936 she was married to Simon Birky, is deceased.

Surviving are two sons: Jerry (Joy) Birky of Portales, NM and John (Gaynelle) Birky of Minier, IL, one daughter, Karen (Ray) Nachtigall of Hopedale, IL; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren.

An infant son, Robert Wayne Birky and her siblings, Marie Litwiller, Edna Springer, Fern Swartzendruber, Verda Carlson, Amasa Miller and Irene Stutzman preceded her in death.

She was part of the Hopedale Mennonite Women's group where she enjoyed quilting. She made quilts for each of her 3 children and 10 grandchildren. She loved making cookies for family and friends, as well as watching game shows on TV. She enjoyed playing the "Mennonite Game" connecting relatives, and everyone was impressed by her memory for birth dates of those she knew.

Bishop, Marie Shelly, 90, of Hilltown, PA died February 18, 2016 at Souderton Mennonite Homes, Franconia Twp., PA. She was born February 13, 1926 at Bedminster Twp., PA to Erwin and Cora (Alderfer) Shelly. On May 17, 1947 she was married to Lloyd L. Bishop, who is deceased.

Blauch, Dale Edward, 85, of Harrisonburg, VA died October 9, 2016 at the same place from cancer. He was born March 30, 1931 at Short Gap, WV to Earl and Nellie (Ward) Blauch. On April 26, 1952 at Short Gap, WV he was married to Miriam Sheller, who survives.

Surviving are children, Dolores Hertzler and husband Barry, Susan Blauch and partner Karen Myers; and two grandchildren.

His siblings, Ralph Blauch, Gladys Blauch Garges, James Blauch, Sr., Mildred Blauch Miller, Glen Blauch, Sr., and Irene Blauch Moreland preceded him in death.

Dale was co-founder of Blauch Brothers, board of directors (later CEO and President) of The National Bank of Keyser, co-owner and operator of a mechanical contracting company, member of Rockingham Men's Chorus and Gideon's International.

Boll, Titus B., 82, of Lititz entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at his residence. Born in Warwick Township, he was the son of the late Noah S. and Viola Benner Boll. He was the loving husband of Lois Brubaker Boll with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Titus was a member of Erb Mennonite Church, Lititz, where he served as Sunday school superintendent and teacher for many years. He was a faithful, loving husband and father. Titus was kind and loving, and had a sense of humor. He lived a conscientious Christian life, having served for two years in the Byberry I-W Unit at the Philadelphia State Hospital. His personal faith left a godly example for his family and all who knew him. He was friendly and enjoyed meeting people. Titus was generous with his time and efforts to help others.

Titus was a farmer as a young man, managing a dairy farm. After leaving the farm he worked for several industries, predominately Sauders, Inc. of Lititz in numerous roles. He enjoyed the contact with the egg producers in his last position as quality control; where he monitored the chicken houses for salmonella. Driving was important, too, for Titus when he logged many miles driving new and used vehicles for the former Sauder Chevrolet, Manheim during his retirement years. He also took great care in maintaining the Erb Mennonite Church cemetery for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Laura wife of Kelvin Mack of Lancaster, Lorie wife of Thomas Mills IV of Parkesburg, Allen and Lisa (Robbins) Boll of Lititz, Lucyann wife of José Borrero of Lancaster and Anthony husband of Lisa (Headrick) Boll of Lancaster, eleven grandchildren, four brothers, Roy husband of Lois Boll, Homer husband of Shirley Boll, Elvin husband of Clarene Boll, Lester husband of Dorothy Boll and four sisters, Rhoda wife of Robert Sensenig, Ruth Weaver, Irene Haller and Esther wife of Stanley Wine.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Mary Kreider and three brothers, Sanford, Luke and Joseph Boll.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at Erb Mennonite Church, 567 Lexington Road, Lititz on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 10:00 AM. CENTREVILLE, Mich. - Alva Bontrager, 82, of Centreville, died Thursday, May 19.

He was born March 21, 1934, to William N. and Lydia Ann Bontrager.

He lived in St. Joseph County and LaGrange County, Ind.

In 1952, he married Katie Ann Miller. She preceded him in death. In 2012, he married Anna Bontrager; she survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Kathryn Miller, Vera and Esther Bontrager; six sons, Willis, Tobias, Ervin, William, Allen and Milo Bontrager; 70 grandchildren; 111 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie, and two brothers, LeRoy and Samuel Bontrager.

His parents, first wife; two stillborn children; two grandsons; and three sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Allen Bontrager residence, 3600 E – 300 S, LaGrange.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, LaGrange.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Saturday at the M & M Community Building, Nottawa Road, Centreville.

GOSHEN - Barbara H. Bontrager, 87, Goshen, died Friday, July 15.

She was born Jan. 21, 1929, to Henry R. and Clara J. (Schrock) Bontrager.

She had family beyond her siblings, of which seven preceded her in passing. They were Susan Kauffman, Albert (Vivian), Harvey (Joan), Elizabeth, Rudy, Jonas (Beverly) and Esther Bontrager and her parents.

Surviving are one remaining sibling, Floyd (Barbara) Bontrager of Mishawaka and nieces and nephews, Twyla Mae, Elnora, Verl, Eunice, Phillip, Duane, Kevin, Gwyn, Gari, Greg, Jeanine, Stuart, Valerie and Jona.

Barbara was a communications technician.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 2 p.m. service Friday, July 22, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. Pastor Don Francis will officiate. Burial will be in Shore Cemetery at a later date.

SHIPSHEWANA - Edna Bontrager, 84, of Shipshewana, died Saturday, May 21, at her residence.

She was born July 10, 1931, in Arthur, Ill., to Eli and Lovina (Hershberger) Mast. On Feb. 14, 1952, in Shipshewana, she married Ray J. Miller. He died April 2, 1991. On Dec. 13, 1992, in Shipshewana, she married Mahlon M. Bontrager. He survives.

Also surviving are daughters Sue Ann (Homer) Mullet of Kingston, Wis., Ida (Omer) Hochstetler of Shipshewana and Marlene (Don) Schrock of Goshen; sons Harley Miller and Howard (Andrea Kelly) Miller, both of LaGrange; four stepdaughters; five stepsons; and three brothers.

She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Visitation will be all day today at Danny Bontrager’s home, 1905 N. 1100 W., Shipshewana, where a funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. A forenoon visitation will be followed by an afternoon funeral service in Kingston on Wednesday. Burial will be in North Scott Cemetery, Columbia County, Wis., Wednesday.

Lyle Edgar Bontrager, age 91, passed away suddenly on March 24, 2016, in Punta Gorda, FL. Lyle was born February 27, 1925 in Midland, Michigan. About 20 years ago, Lyle and his wife Wilma, began enjoying winters in the Sunnybreeze community near Arcadia, Florida, where they made many friends. They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary last year. They raised their family in Clare, MI. Lyle was the manager of the grain elevator in Rosebush, MI for many years. Their summer home is in Fairview, Michigan, where they moved in 1980. He worked at the Fairview Hardware until his retirement and then part time until he was 89 years old. He enjoyed spending time with his family, the activities at Sunnybreeze, following current events, the MSU Spartans, woodworking, stamp and coin collecting, daily crossword puzzles, and Sudoku. He was a member of the Fairview Mennonite Church, Fairview, Michigan.

Survivors are his beloved wife, Wilma Troyer Bontrager, Arcadia, FL and Fairview, MI, son, Walden Lyle (Julie) Bontrager, Mt. Pleasant, MI; daughters: Laura Diane (Carl) Dube, Fairview, MI, Linda Kaye Hawkins, Clare, MI, Beverly Ann Bontrager, Tampa, FL, and daughter-in-law Lynne Ann Kent Bontrager; brothers: Roger (Joyce) Bontrager, Attica, MI, and Marvin (Karen) Bontrager, Mason, MI; sister; Shirley (Gerald) Cassel, Mt. Pleasant, MI. Toby was born Nov. 25, 1955, to Alva and Katie Ann (Miller) Bontrager.

Surviving are his stepmother, Anna Bontrager; sisters and brothers-in-law Kathryn and Wayne Miller, Vera and David and Esther and Eli Bontrager; brothers and sisters-in-law Willis and Fannie Mae, Ervin and Lydia, William and Martha, Allen and Ruth and Milo and Ida Bontrager; and many nieces and nephews.

Borden, Alice Marie Holsopple passed away July 15, 2016, at the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community.

Alice was born in Altoona, Pa., on Nov. 11, 1926, to Ira and Ruth Holsopple. She spent her early life in Lewistown, Pa., and graduated from Lewistown High School in 1944. In 1950, Alice graduated from Philadelphia School of the Bible. She served for three years in New Hampshire with the New England Fellowship of Evangelicals holding children’s Bible classes after school. Alice went to eastern Venezuela to work with The Orinoco River Mission and spent 15 years in Latin America.

Alice is survived by her husband, Arthur, and five children: David and his wife, Barbara, of Kennisaw, Ga.; Jae Horbacz and her husband, Chas, of Neavitt, Md.; Steven Borden and his wife, Lorrie, of Mesa, Ariz.; Bruce Borden and his wife, Kim, of Cranbury, N.J.; and Susan Hess and her husband, Bruce, of New Market. Alice is survived by 13 grandchildren and five great-grandsons. She is also survived by a sister, Patricia and husband, John; sister, Ann; and brothers, John and Paul.

Alice led ladies Bible study classes and children’s Sunday schools throughout her life. Her life was a life of service for and to others. No matter where she lived, she cared for those around her and was a friend and blessing to all she met.

During her years at VMRC she was an active volunteer and served on numerous committees.

Alice was a member of Park View Mennonite Church. She served two terms as president of the Park View Mennonite Women.

Friends can visit with the family from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, at Park View Mennonite Church. A memorial service will be held July 27 at 3 p.m. at Park View Mennonite Church.

GOSHEN - Jack D. Bowser, 81, of Goshen, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital after a recent diagnosis of non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

He was born Aug. 5, 1934, in Milford, to Charles and Ethel Mae (DeFries) Bowser. On July 14, 1957, he married Shirley A. Kaut in Goshen. She died Aug. 16, 2006. On April 5, 2008, he married Lorene (Yoder) Gross.

She survives along with children Christopher (Meike) Bauser of Konstantz, Germany, and Cathy (Marty) Kenny of Middlebury; stepchildren Todd V. King of Wakarusa and Deanna King of Elkhart; and grandchildren Jacob and Joshua Kenny and Sarah and Julia Bauser.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, sisters Joy L. Marek and Jeanette VanDyke; and brothers Robert, LaMar and Charles Bowser.

He graduated from Goshen High School in 1953 and served with the U. S. Navy from 1953 to 1957. He retired from CTS in Elkhart after 35 years.

Mr. Bowser was a member of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, Maple City Kiwanis Club, Bass Fishing Club and Elkhart County Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed tole painting, woodworking and volunteering for church activities.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service on Monday, Jan. 18, at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, 64901 C.R. 11, Goshen. Pastor Wes Bontreger will officiate. In keeping with Mr. Bowser's wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.

Brenneman, Merle Dean, 76, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died July 20, 2016 at the same place from metastatic melanoma. He was born January 26, 1940 at Kalona, IA to Ezra and Sylvia (Yoder) Brenneman. On June 27, 1964 at Smithville, Ohio he was married to Eunice Beyeler, who survives.

Surviving are siblings, Lorena (Charles) Swantz, Mary(Merlin) Grieser, and Dortha (William) Marshall.

Brenneman, Rollin Dale, Sr.
Feb. 14, 1940 - Dec. 4, 2016

Rollin Dale Brenneman Sr. was born February 14, 1940 in rural Kalona, Iowa, the son of Ezra and Katie (Swartzendruber) Brenneman. On July 1, 1963 Rollin was united in marriage to Edna Chupp at his parents home in rural Kalona. He started driving truck in 1961, and in 1991 he started driving for Y&H Trucking in Kalona until his retirement in 2010. Rollin attended the Kalona Mennonite Church. He enjoyed gardening, working in his shop, spending time with family, watching eagles, collecting pocket knives and antique bottles. Rollin passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at his home in Kalona at the age of 76 years.

Rollin is survived by his wife Edna, 6 sons, Rollin Jr. of Fairfax; Tracy of Iowa City; Paul (Rhonda) of Fountain Hills, Arizona; Terry (Kari) of Riverside; Eldon (Jennifer) of Wellman; Waylon (Tiffany) of Kalona; 22 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Stanley Brenneman of Ladora; Raymond (Fannie) Brenneman of Bristol, IN; and a sister Shirley (Calvin) Hochstetler of Kalona. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Rosemary Brenneman and a brother Eldon Brenneman.

Brenneman, Ruth "Arlene" Herr, 80, of Guys Mills, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord, Thursday morning, July 21, 2016, surrounded by family at home. She died peacefully from natural causes. Arlene was born on December 10, 1935 to the late Elvin G. Herr and Laura E. Herr in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Harry Mann Brenneman. She has two sisters Jean (Herr) Gochnauer (deceased) and Mary Ann (Herr) Denlinger of Carlisle, PA.

Arlene's first love was Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She committed her life to Him as a teenager and followed him faithfully until death.

Prior to marriage, Arlene worked as a school secretary at Penn Manor High School.

On September 15, 1956, she married Harry Brenneman. In 1957, they purchased a farm near Fairmount, Pennsylvania and developed a Guernsey dairy farm which provided a wonderful setting for raising their six children. During these years, Arlene helped her husband on the farm and served alongside him as a minister's wife.

In 1979, Harry and Arlene moved to Sharon Mennonite Bible Insti-tute where Arlene worked as a secretary while Harry served as administrator for 10 years. In 1989, they moved to South Carolina where they were involved in the work at Fair Play Camp School, Fair Play Christian School and Fair Play Mennonite Church.

Arlene found joy in serving at the camp thrift store and helping with sewing circles and community Bible studies. Often her hands were busy crocheting scrubbies, many of which she gave away as gifts. When she heard of a hurting child, she would send a lamb to them. Arlene was a gracious servant. Even in her final days, she expressed gratitude to all her caregivers.

In December of 2015, she moved to Guys Mills, PA to live with her oldest daughter, Cynthia (Brenneman) Brubaker. She resided there until her death 7 months later.

Arlene is survived by six children who will miss her love, regular visits, cards and prayers - Her one son, J. Richard Brenneman, husband of Miriam (Breneman), Quarryville, Pennsyl-vania, and five daughters: Cynthia, wife of Steven Brubaker, Guys Mills, Pennsylvania; Dolores, wife of Loren Miller, Chiang Mai, Thailand; Joyce, wife of Milford Yoder, Wolford, North Dakota; Cathy, wife of Joe Bacher of Gainesville, Virginia; and Lorraine Brenneman of Oldtown, Maryland. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her twenty-five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitations and funeral will be held at Mechanic Grove Mennonite Church, 735 Church Road, Quarryville, PA. Visitation hours are 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. Saturday, July 23, 2016. The funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. July 24, 2016 with interment following. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services in Quarryville.

Brubacher, Margaret Marie Wedel, 89, of Moundridge, McPherson Co., KS died September, 25, 2016 at Hesston, Harvey Co., KS. She was born February 14, 1927 at Moundridge to Christian "C.P." and Katie (Goering) Wedel . On February 13, 1949 at Moundridge she was married to Donald J. Brubacher, who is deceased.

Surviving are children, Cindi (Lowell) Roth, Don (Janette) Brubacher, Dale (Deb) Brubacher; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Her siblings, Marlin Wedel, Homer Wedel, Helen Scott, and Alice Krehbiel Schrag preceded her in death.

Brubacher, Sarah Martin, 98, of St. Jacobs, Ontario, Canada died August 15, 2016 at the same place. She was born September 17, 1917 at Elmira, Waterloo County, Ontario to Benjamin and Veronica (Frey) Brubacher. On March 19, 1940 at Elmira she was married to Emanuel Brubacher, who was born November 7, 1914 and died June 8, 2005.

Surviving are children, Mark (Ruth) Brubacher, Jim Brubacher, Mary Kaiser, and Martha Wynn; 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Six brothers and 5 sisters preceded her in death.

Brubacker, Victor P., 84, peacefully went to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at StoneRidge, Myerstown, PA. His wife of 59 years Rebecca H. (Martin) was by his side. Born November 5, 1931, near Richland, PA, he was a son of the late Noah and Hulda (Burke) Brubacker.

Victor was retired from Harrisburg State Hospital. He was a licensed ham radio operator, enjoyed bird watching, reading the Bible, and was a member of Harmony Christian Fellowship.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Victor, husband of Rosalie (Ramos), Lititz; Jesse, husband of Rosanna (Martin), Rehrersburg; Ray, husband of Michelle (Barham), Sebastian, FL; David, husband of Karen (Zook), Richland; and daughter Rose, wife of Richard Hoover, Martinsburg; 10 grandchildren; half brother Donald Reed, Panama City, Panama; half-sister Annary Sedivy, Spirit Lake, Iowa. He was preceded in death by half-brother James Reed and sister Matilda Scott. His funeral will be held Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 10 AM at Harmony Christian Fellowship, 30 Camp Swatara Road, Myerstown, PA, with David Burkholder and Leonard Martin officiating. Brubaker, Albern Clair, 4, of Elizabethtown was carried safely to the arms of Jesus on Saturday, November 5, 2016 according to the Divine Will of God.

He was born on January 6, 2012 to his grateful parents Kervin and Paula (Eby) Brubaker. Albern will be dearly missed by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters, Regina Gail, Edwin Ray, Amanda Faith, Warren Graig, Clayton Shane, and Esther Luisa Mae Brubaker, all at home. He is also survived by paternal grandparents, Roy and Esther (Heisey) Brubaker of Elizabethtown, maternal grandparents, Lauren and Robyn (Weingard) Eby of Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, paternal great grandmother, Etta Brubaker of Lititz. Many uncles, aunts and cousins survive and grieve the absence of Albern's happy presence. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Esther (Miller) Eby.

Brubaker, Jonas B., Jr., 89, formerly of East Donegal Township, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community. Born in East Hempfield, he was the son of the late Jonas E. and Naomi Stauffer Brubaker.

Jonas was a farmer all of his life in East Donegal Township. He was a member of Mount Joy Mennonite Church and enjoyed nature and his dog.

Jonas is survived by two brothers, Martin Brubaker husband of Arline, of Mount Joy and Benjamin Brubaker husband of Bertha, of Manheim; two sisters, Ruth Yovanovich wife of Bill, of Elizabethtown, and Naomi Rowe wife of Robert, of Jessup, MD; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Brubaker.

A funeral service honoring Jonas's life will be held at Mount Joy Mennonite Church, 320 Musser Road, Mount Joy on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 11 AM. Family and friends will be received at the church following the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

Brubaker, Leroy M., 56, of Mount Pleasant Mills, passed away Tuesday evening, July 26, 2016, at the Sunbury Community Hospital, Sunbury.

He was born Sept. 16, 1959, in Ephrata, a son of the late Frank S. and Mildred L. (Martin) Brubaker. He was married to the former Faye A. Horst who survives. His passing breaks a marital union of 34 years.

He was employed at DaveCo Pallets, Middleburg.
Leroy was a member of Chapman Old Order Mennonite Church, Port Trevorton.

In addition to his wife, Faye, Leroy is survived by three sons, Clyde H. Brubaker, of Port Trevorton, Clair H. Brubaker and Wayne H. Brubaker, both of Mount Pleasant Mills; six daughters, Marlene H. Brubaker, of Port Trevorton, Elaine Stauffer, wife of Joel, of Columbia Crossroads, Nancy Stauffer, wife of Matthew, of Mount Pleasant Mills, Sandra Brubaker, Rosanna Brubaker, and Joanne Brubaker, all at home; five grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, Lloyd M. Born in Jackson Township, Lebanon County, he was a son of the late Jesse A. and Ida H. (Gehman) Brubaker.

Reuben was farmer and a member of the Martindale Old Order Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

In addition to his wife, Reuben is survived by 4 children; Marlin Z. Brubaker of Ephrata, Arlene Z. Hurst, wife of Aaron, of Terre Hill, Mary Ella Brubaker of Ephrata, and Carl Z. Buckwalter, Helen F. Stauffer, 93, formerly of Manheim passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Landis Homes Retirement Community, Lititz. Born in Bart Township, she was the daughter of the late Elvin and Stella Ressler Stauffer. She was the wife of the late J. Harold Buckwalter who died in 2006. Helen was a seamstress for over sixty years. She was a member of Lititz Mennonite Church where she was active in the sewing circle and was church librarian. Helen was a former member of Manheim Mennonite Church and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Manheim. Her interests included traveling, reading, gardening, and she loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Nancy L. Buckwalter of Mountville, Janet L. wife of Richard Lengacher of Huntsburg, Ohio, a son, Allan H. Buckwalter of Womelsdorf, three grandchildren, Eric Lengacher, Jill Crumbacher, Levi Buckwalter, and four great-grandchildren, Anna and Abigail Crumbacher, and Samuel and Joshua Lengacher. She was preceded in death by six siblings, Reba Nissly, Anna Stauffer, Irene Stauffer, Landis Stauffer, Clarence Stauffer, and Harold Stauffer.

GOSHEN - Gladys E. Buller, 91, died Tuesday, May 24.

She was born Sept. 27, 1924, to Jacob P. and Elizabeth (Fast) Klassen.

On June 24, 1949, she married Peter W. Buller. He died Aug. 28, 2009.

Survivors include a daughter, Jeanette (Nathan) Slater of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, James P. (Patti) Buller and Charles P. (Tracy) Buller, both of Goshen; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two siblings, Alvera Remple and Orlando Klassen.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Silverwood Mennonite Church where an 11 a.m. funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, June 1. Pastor Jeremy Shue will officiate.

Cremation will follow the service and burial will be at a later date in Violett Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to AIMM for pastoral training in The Congo.

Buller, Gladys Klaasen, 91, died May 24, 2016 at Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN. She was born September 27, 1924 at Saskatchewan, Canada to Jacob and Elizabeth (Fast) Klassen. On June 24, 1949 in Minnesota she was married to Peter Buller, who died August 28, 2009.

Surviving are children, Jeanette (Nathan) Slater; James (Patti) Buller; and Charles (Tracy) Buller; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

A sister, Alvera Remple, and a brother, Orlando Klassen preceded her in death.

Mr. and Mrs. Buller spent 37 years teaching and doing pastoral training in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She was a member of Silverwood Mennonite Church where at one time she served as minister of education. She enjoyed serving the elderly needing assistance and she had an artistic flair, creating a cottage industry to help Congolese women increase their income through art projects.

Besides serving in many ways alongside Peter, after retirement she continued to volunteer her time at Goshen General Hospital. In their retirement years Peter & Gladys undertook several short-term mission assignments here in the U.S., back in Congo, and in Haiti. Gladys loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed inviting friends over for an evening of fun.

Memorial services were held June 1, 2016 at Silverwood Mennonite Church, Goshen, IN with burial in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, IN.

Burge, William James, 99, of Marion, SD died November 30, 2016 at the same place. He was born March 22, 1917 at Iroquois, SD
to Verne and Ida Burge. On October 13, 1940 he was married to Goldie Burge, who died in 2001.

Surviving are children, James and Ruth Burge; Ronald and Kathy Burge; Terry and Brenda Burge; and Keith and Cindi Burge; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren.

His grandchildren, Lynn (died 2007) and Jenny (died 2016) preceded him in death.

She was born in Earl Township to the late Aaron and Mary (Weaver) Nolt and was the wife of the late George O. Burkholder who died in 2012.

She was a member of Martindale Old Order Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Anna Mary was a Homemaker.

Burkholder, Bertha M. Weaver, 91, of Kutztown, died on Saturday, April 9, 2016 in the residence of her son-in-law and daughter, Moses and Wilma Zimmerman. She was the widow of Eli Z. Burkholder who died on October 2, 2005.

Born in Caernarvon Township, Lancaster Co., she was a daughter of the late Peter S. and Mattie E. (Martin) Weaver.

Burkholder, Elva Kauffman, (age 83) of Morgantown, PA passed away at Reading Hospital, surrounded by her family, on March 2, 2016. She was the wife of David O. Burkholder and they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on March 17th.

Elva was the daughter of the late Simeon & Sarah Fisher Kauffman. She was a member of Rockville Mennonite Church. They faithfully served the native people in a First Nations Community for 17 years in Northwestern Ontario with Impact North Ministries. Elva, at age 22, lived bravely creating a home with no running water or electricity other than what her husband engineered - their stories are captivating. After moving out to Red Lake, Elva and David became foster parents and Elva was a wonderful influence in their lives. Later, she successfully managed the local hospital gift shop. She enjoyed sewing and reading, but what she loved most was her family.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two children: Lynn, husband of Lynne T. Burkholder of Elverson, PA; Wanita, wife of James O'Donohue, of Fleetwood, PA. Elva and David have 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Elva is survived by 3 siblings: Fianna, wife of J. Mast Blank; Titus, husband of Barbara Lapp; Albert, husband of Dolly Stoltzfus. She was preceded in death by 2 siblings: Delilah Swartzentruber and Arthur Kauffman.

The viewing will be Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 and the funeral service will take place Saturday, March 12th at 3:00 pm with a viewing from 2:00 3:00. Both will be at Rockville Mennonite Church, 210 Cupola Road, Honey Brook, PA. Pastor Eugene Z. Smucker will be officiating with Amos Stoltzfus giving the meditation. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it would have delighted Elva to have you send donations to Living Hope Ministry at Box 50, International Falls, MN, 56649.

Burkholder, Emma Weaver Hurst, 85, formerly of Ephrata, went home to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully, with her family by her side, on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Landis Homes Retirement Community, Lititz.

She was born in Earl Township to the late Aaron and Emma (Weaver) Weaver and was the wife of Melvin W. Burkholder for 37 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul H. Hurst in October of 1971.

She was a member of Bethany Grace Fellowship, East Earl.

Emma was a self-employed seamstress for many years and owned Hurst Custom Draperies. She enjoyed sewing clothing for her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Emma is survived by a son, Bob, husband of Debra (Hoover) Hurst of Ephrata; 3 daughters, JoAnne (Hurst), wife of Keith Weaver of Reinholds, Cheryl (Hurst), wife of Barry Wissler of Ephrata, Sandra (Hurst), wife of Barry Martin of Ephrata; 4 stepdaughters, Glenda (Burkholder), wife of Randy Witmer of Lititz, Joyce (Burkholder), wife of Jay Weaver of Lancaster, Gail Burkholder of Ephrata, Sharon (Burkholder), wife of Kevin Adams of Lancaster; 12 grandchildren; 12 Great grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren; 5 Step- Great grandchildren, 3 foster grandchildren, 4 brothers, Irvin, husband of Esther (Eberly) Weaver of Stevens, Melvin, husband of Anna (Hackert) Weaver of Denver, Aaron Weaver of Ephrata, George, husband of Evelyn (Weber) Weaver of Reinholds and a sister, Anna Mary, wife of Paul B. Hurst of Ephrata.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Weaver, 3 sisters, Edna Weaver, Verna Horning, Edith Weaver; a step son-in-law, Bob Witmer; a step grandson, Mitchell Witmer and a step great-grandson, Eli Eisenhour.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016, from 6 to 8 PM, at Bethany Grace Fellowship, 400 Reading Rd., East Earl, PA 17519. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at 2 PM, at Hinkletown Mennonite Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 3 PM, at Bethany Grace Fellowship, with Pastor Adams officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff at Landis Homes and Hospice and Community Care for their gentle, loving care and support for Emma.

Burkholder, Ervin M., age 72 years, 1 month, 11 days, of Greenwich, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at his home following a short illness.

Ervin was born November 26, 1943 in New Holland, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Paul and Leah (Martin) Burkholder. He was a member of Country View Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

He is survived by his wife, Emma H. (Weaver) Burkholder and they were married 50 years, 11 months, 22 days. Also surviving are 4 sons and 6 daughters: Elva (Jason) Oberholtzer of Willard, OH, Eunice (Eli) Weaver of Leola, PA, Marian (Aaron) Hoover of Greenwich, OH, Mark (Katie) Burkholder of Lititz, PA, Leon (Vera) Burkholder of Greenwich, OH, Ellen (Leroy) Oberholtzer of Greenwich, OH, Lillian (Samuel) Zimmerman of Shiloh, OH, Ervin Jr. (Crystal) Burkholder of Greenwich, OH, Paul (Dorcas) Burkholder of Greenwich, OH, Joann (Moses) Sensenig of Shiloh, OH; 47 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother: Lloyd (Esther) Burkholder of Ephrata, PA; 5 sisters: Etta Nolt of Shippensburg, PA, Ida (David) Zimmerman of Williamsburg, PA, Lydia (Marvin) Sensenig of Shippensburg, PA, Lena (Earl) Zimmerman of Plymouth, OH, and Naomi (Lester) Newswanger of Shiloh, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, a brother-in-law, and 2 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the family home, 3850 Alpha Road, Greenwich, Ohio 44837. Funeral services will be on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 9:30 AM at Country View Mennonite Church, on Crum Road, Shiloh with the home ministry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Care for Ervin and his family is being provided by Bob, Catherine and Jake at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby.

ROCHESTER - Lillian "Lil" Zook Burkholder, 60, of Rochester, died Thursday, March 31.

She was born March 3, 1956, in Lancaster, Pa., to Amos Jr. and Linda (Yoder) Zook.

On Feb. 25, 1978, she married Gary Burkholder in Lancaster.

Mrs. Burkholder is survived by her husband, Gary; children Janita Burkholder of Nappanee, Wade (Charlotte) Burkholder of Hagerstown, Md., Lynda (Jason) Wolfe of Lewisburg, Pa., and Adrian (Rachel) Burkholder of Mentone; seven grandchildren; and four sisters; and five brothers.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 3, and Monday, April 4, at Nappanee Missionary Church Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Nappanee Missionary Church Sanctuary for Maple Lawn Amish Mennonite Church. Memorial contributions may be given to Grace Haven Renewal Ministry.

Burkholder, Lois Lorraine Buckwalter, 81, of Washington Boro, Pennsylvania, was received in the arms of her loving Lord and Savior on August 3, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Anna (Book) Buckwalter. Lois is survived by her husband, Ezra W., with whom she celebrated over 61 years of marriage.

Surviving in addition to her husband are four children: Vera Jane, wife of James W. Kreider, Placentia, California; J. Richard, husband of Cheryl L. (Harnish), Washington Boro; Nancy J., wife of Charles H. Albrecht, Lancaster; Marianne, wife of the late Rodney Dale Bieber, Saxton, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two on the way; one brother, Kenneth Buckwalter, husband of Marlene (Weaver), Ephrata; five sisters, Doris, wife of the late Mahlon Gochnauer, Lititz; Eileen Stone, Mifflinburg; Darlene, wife of the late Duane Sharp, Mifflinburg; Marge, wife of James Miller, Seymore, Indiana; Mary, wife of Richard Hess, Homestead, Florida. She was preceded in death by one grandson.

Lois was a homemaker and a true helpmate to her husband on the farm. She loved the outdoors and fresh air. Her priorities were such that she chose to live simply. As an avid reader she continually added to her library and in turn her spiritual life.

She was "Grandma Lois" to many beyond immediate family. Her prayers, giving heart, cards and notes of encouragement all exemplified her interest in others. She delighted in spending time with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lois was a member of Living Light Mennonite Church and served the Lord there and in many capacities

Lois L. (Buckwalter) Burkholder, 81, a homemaker, of Washington Boro., entered into rest on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at LGH after an illness. She was the wife of Ezra W. Burkholder. They were married on November 6, 1954.

Born April 8, 1935 in Paradise and raised in Manor Twp., she was the daughter of the late Lester R. and Anna E. (Book) Burkholder. A Christian, Lois was a member of the Masonville Mennonite Church, now Living Light Mennonite Church, Washington Boro. and also was a member of the Sunday School.

Also surviving are four children; Vera Jane, wife of James W. Kreider, of Placentia, CA, J. Richard Burkholder, husband of Cheryl (Harnish) Burkholder, of Washington Boro., Nancy J., wife of Charles H. Albrecht, of Lancaster and Marianne Bieber, wife of the late Rodney Dale Bieber (2015), of Saxton; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren "on the way" and six siblings; Doris A. Gochnauer, of Litiz, Eileen F. Stone, of Mifflinburg, Kenneth B. Buckwalter, husband of Marlene, of Ephrata, Darlene M. Sharpe, wife of the late C. Duane Sharp, of Mifflinburg, Marge, wife of James Miller, of Seymour, IN and Mary Frances, wife of Richard Hess, of Homestead, FL. She was also preceded in death by a grandson; J. Tyler Kreider (2014).

She brought beauty in the Simplicity of her life.

DAYTON - Mark Edwin Burkholder, 72, of Dayton, Va., passed away on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at his residence.

Mr. Burkholder was born on May 6, 1944, in Dayton, and was a son of the late John Samuel and Vernie Magdalene (Knicely) Burkholder. He was a self-employed farmer. Mark was a member of the Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite Church.

On June 12, 1968, he married the former Virginia Ann Rhodes, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Mark is survived by his children, Alice M. Koogler and husband, Steven, of Bridgewater, Norman L. Burkholder and wife, Kendra, of Dayton, and Wilda G. Knicely and husband, Gary, of Bridgewater; siblings, Wilda Rhodes of Dayton, Norma Koogler of Harrisonburg, Anna Burkholder of Dayton, and Mildred Knicely and husband, Lowell, of Dayton; brothers-in-law Allen Beery of Dayton and John Rodes of Mount Crawford; sister-in-law, Martha Burkholder of Mount Crawford; 23 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mr. Burkholder was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Showalter, and her husband, Scott, and their daughters, Shayla and Christina; siblings Sadie Rodes, Beulah Koogler and husband, Paul, Earl Burkholder, Vernon Burkholder and Eunice Beery; and brothers-in-law, Joe Rhodes and Ervin Koogler.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The body will be taken to his home, where friends may call at any time until 8 p.m.

Burkholder, Vernon Harrison, 73, of Bridgewater, passed away April 17, 2016. Mr. Burkholder was born Aug. 17, 1942, in Rockingham County and was a son of the late John Samuel and Vernie Magdalene (Knicely) Burkholder.

He was a farmer and carpenter. He was a member of Riverdale Old Order Mennonite Church.

On Jan. 29, 1964, he married the former Betty Ann Martin, who passed away on Jan. 13, 2004.

Surviving are three daughters, Sue Ann Wenger and husband, Michael, and Martha Koogler and husband, Thomas, both of Bridgewater, and Margaret Rhodes and husband, Lamar, of Dayton; siblings, Wilda Rhodes of Dayton, Norma Koogler of Harrisonburg, Anna Burkholder of Dayton, Mildred Knicely of Dayton, Mark Burkholder of Dayton, and Eunice Beery of Dayton; 19 grandchildren, Russell and Steven Wenger, Kenneth and Travis Wenger, Chris Wenger, Virginia Heatwole, Larry, Rebecca, Wendell, Wanita and Lynette Wenger, Annie Wenger, and William, David, Eleanor, Evelyn, Andrew, Sharon and Jonathan Rhodes; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Burkholder was preceded in death by his siblings, Sadie Rodes, Beulah Koogler and Earl Burkholder, and an infant granddaughter.

Bishop Lloyd Wenger and ministers of the church will conduct a funeral service Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at Riverdale Old Order Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

The body will be taken to the home of Thomas and Martha Koogler, 1420 Emmanuel Church Road, Bridgewater, where friends may call at any time on Monday.

McMullen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
